Ella Rose Embry had a hat trick as Tyler Legacy took a 9-0 win over Texas High to close out the Longview Tournament on Saturday.
Lily Beckham started the scoring for the Lady Raiders with a goal less than four minutes in on an assist by Jenna Barnes.
Barnes then scored two consecutive goals on assists from Brianna Garcia and Beckham.
Just more than a minute after Barnes’ second goal, Embry scored an unassisted goal and, shortly after, Embry scored again on an assist by Beckham.
Garcia scored on an assist from Kyleigh D’Spain and then Garcia assisted on a goal by Williams with 9:50 on the clock to give the Lady Raiders a 7-0 halftime lead.
There was no scoring for nearly 40 minutes until D’Spain scored on an assist by Bella McNeil with 10:10 remaining in the contest. With two minutes on the clock, Embry scored her third goal on an assist by D’Spain.
Legacy will open district against Rockwall at 7:15 p.m. Monday. The game was originally scheduled for Tuesday but was moved due to expected inclement weather.
Rockwall won the district championship in 2022 and advanced to the Class 6A final. Legacy has won 19 district titles and is aiming for No. 20 in its 30th season as a program.
