Lindale junior Marley Keith has been named the Tyler Morning Telegraph Girls Basketball Player of the Week for games played Nov. 14-19.
In five games, Keith averaged 18.2 points, 3.8 rebounds, 4.4 steals and 2.0 assists per game. She was 13 of 26 from 3-point range.
In the Macy Chenevert Memorial Tournament, Keith averaged 18.0 points, 4.3 rebounds, 4.3 steals and 2.3 assists per game and was named the Offensive MVP for the tournament.
In other outstanding performances in the area last week (based on information provided by coaches):
Canton senior Amari Welch averaged 15.6 points, 4.5 steals and 5.2 assists as Canton went 4-1. Welch was named to the All-Tournament team of the Macy Chenevert Memorial Tournament.
Jacksonville’s Kiah Cox averaged 10.8 points and 5.4 rebounds per game while making 22 free throws. Andrea Donnell averaged 6.0 points, 15.3 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game.
Van junior guard Landry Jones had 19 points, eight rebounds and four steals in a win over Kaufman. Marisa Richardson had 10 points in the win over Kaufman.
Grace Community sophomore Brenna Hill averaged 17.0 points, 3.0 assists and 3.0 steals per game as the Lady Cougars went 4-2.
Bullard’s Carly Tucker averaged 13.0 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.0 steals to earn All-Tournament honors in the Macy Chenevert Memorial Tournament. Tre’Anah Coppock averaged 12.0 points, 6.0 rebounds and 5.0 assists.
East Texas teams ranked by the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches are Lufkin Hudson 20 and Canton 25 in 4A; Winnsboro 2, Edgewood 10, Central Heights 12, Malakoff 17, Mount Pleasant Chapel Hill 19 and Mount Vernon 21 in 3A; Martin’s Mill 8, Tenaha 11, LaPoynor 13 and Woden 22 in 2A; Neches 3 in 1A; and Bullard Brook Hill 9 in TAPPS 4A.
