Two-Minute Drill: West Rusk edges Harmony in volleyball, more

WEST RUSK EDGES HARMONY IN VOLLEYBALL: HARMONY — The West Rusk Lady Raiders overcame an early deficit to notch an 18-25, 25-20, 25-23, 22-25, 16-14 win over Harmony.
The Lady Raiders trailed 14-7 in the fifth-and-deciding set before Chloee Tidwell served up nine straight points for the win.
Tidwell finished with eight aces, 10 kills and 13 digs for West Rusk, which also got 19 digs from Abigail Rodriguez, four kills and four digs from Alex Lewis, 23 digs from Allison Bobbitt, 10 digs from Brey Ruiz, 13 kills and 11 digs from Brooklyn Floyd, two aces, six kills, 22 digs and 48 assists from Claire Nichols, 15 kills and seven digs from Hannah Trichel, two aces, 19 kills, two blocks and six digs from Kayla Lewis, 15 digs from Natalie Farrow and six aces and 16 digs from Sydnee Martin.
ST. MARY'S DEFEATS LCS IN SOCCER: Paxton Tucker scored twice, Willie Del Zotto recorded nine saves and St. Mary's improved to 3-1 in district play with a 4-2 win over Longview Christian School.
Kyle Glover scored once and recorded four goals for St. Mary's, and Ricardo Viloria scored once and assisted on another goal.
LETU CHARITY SOFTBALL: The LeTourneau University Celebrity Softball Games are scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 28, at Conrad-Vernon Field on the LETU campus.
Three celebrity softball games will be played throughout the day, starting with local doctors squaring off against local lawyers at 12 p.m. At 2 p.m., Christus Good Shepherd Medical Center will play against Longview Regional Medical Center in the "Battle" of local hospitals with a home-run derby to immediately follow. The premiere matchup of the day will take place at 4 p.m. as the Longview Police Department goes up against their rival Longview Firefighters in game three.
Ticket prices will be $5 for adults and $3 for children with one ticket being good for admission for the entire day. All proceeds from the event will go to the LeTourneau University Athletic Department, which will directly benefit LETU student-athletes.
GOLF BENEFIT: The Donald Knight Memorial Golf Tournament is set for Monday, Oct. 23, at Wood Hollow Golf Course in Longview.
The 10th annual event benefits the East Texas Symphonic Band scholarships and concerts.
The four-person scramble will begin with a shotgun start at 1 p.m.
