ET Volleyball Roundup: Longview sweeps John Tyler, more

LONGVIEW 3, JOHN TYLER 0: Kennedy Eynon and Destiny McAfee combined for 22 kills, and the Longview Lady Lobos opened District 11-6A play with a 25-17, 25-15, 25-11 sweep of John Tyler.

Eynon finished with 12 kills, 13 assists, six digs and two blocks as the Lady Lobos moved to 19-8 on the year. McAfee finished with 10 kills, four digs and two aces.

Manecia Darden chipped in with 10 digs, Sauntiania Darden three kills, Brooke Goynes eight digs, Morgan Vance 19 assists and two digs, Malaika Pencheon five kills and Ashley Davis two kills.

Longview hosts Rockwall on Tuesday.

PINE TREE 3, MOUNT PLEASANT 0: MOUNT PLEASANT — The Pine Tree Lady Pirates opened District 16-5A play with a 25-22, 25-23, 25-11 sweep of Mount Pleasant.

Emily Jones finished with a team-leading eight kills for the Lady Pirates. Harper Finley was close behind with seven swats. Sarah Moore and Jordan Fuller added six apiece, Maizie Hart and Sam Sommerfield two each and Haley Morgan two.

Sommerfield fired off seven aces. Sarah Moore had 12 assists, and Natalie Collins chipped in with 11. hart and Sommerfield added two blocks apiece. Sommerfield led with 16 digs. Morgan added 15, Jones 10, Collins eight, Moore five, Riley Stanley three and Blair Shelton and Fuller two apiece.

HALLVILLE 3, MARSHALL 0: HALLSVILLE — Addison McDermott's 13 kills and Ashley Jones' 33 assists, the Hallsville Ladycats opened District 16-5A play with a 25-17, 25-8, 25-8 win over Marshall.

McDermott also had two blocks, four digs and four aces, and Jones fired off a couple of aces for the Ladycats. Gracey Ford chipped in with seven kills and two aces, Jessica Buderus six kills and Hannah Perry nine digs and three aces.

GILMER 3, VAN 0: GILMER — Junior Meredith Morrison recorded nine kills on 22 swings, with just one error, adding three digs for Gilmer in a 25-17, 25-16, 25-15 win over Van.

Freshman Haylee Jordan added nine kills on 12 swings (no errors) and four blocks, and senior Maddie Vestal led the defensive effort with 30 digs.

TATUM 3, CHS 0: TATUM — Ashton Brown filled the stat sheet with 23 digs, 11 assists, eight kills and four blocks to lead Tatum past Christian Heritage School, 25-19, 25-9, 25-8.

Madison Fite added seven kills, 22 digs and two blocks for Tatum, which also got nine kills, nine digs, 11 assists and two aces from Essence Allen, seven digs from Ania Centers, five digs from Adriana Bradley, five kills, two digs and seven blocks from Jayla Hooper, three digs from Lela Burney, two kills from Averi Brown, five digs and five assists from Jasmine Rogers, two blocks from Alex Windom and three digs, three blocks and two kills from Tori Mitchell.

CHAPEL HILL 3, HENDERSON 2: HENDERSON — Chapel Hill held on for a 25-20, 14-25, 25-20, 18-25, 15-13 win over Henderson in non-district play.

Kassi Freeman had 14 kills, two aces and 11 digs in the loss for Henderson. Jaclyn Garrett added seven kills, three aces, 10 digs and three blocks, Baleigh Smith seven kills, Ann Mills 12 assists, Ashleigh Suggs 19 assists and Resha Hall 13 digs, five blocks and three kills.

WHITE OAK 3, NEW DIANA 0: WHITE OAK — The White Oak Ladynecks opened District 16-3A play with a 25-12, 25-15, 26-24 sweep of New Diana.

Kyla Weeks led White Oak with 21 assists, three kills, four digs and two aces. Brooklyn Noll added 12 digs, two assists and two kills, Tifanie Barham two assists and nine digs, Kaitlyn Reed five kills, Kinsey Smith four kills, Destiny Morgan six digs and four aces, Madison Sigmon six kills, Alysa Hall two kills, Macy Weeks four aces and Cayman Sutton one kill, one assist and one ace.

For New Diana in the loss, Makayla Simmons had 10 assists, five digs and three kills, Lauren James 11 digs, Krista Russell three kills, Katelyn Easley five kills, Haley Holt five digs, Gabi Moore five kills, Joelle Newton five assists and three digs, Ali Leslie five assists and three digs and Karly Meshell one ace.

White Oak visits Elysian Fields and New Diana treks to Union Grove on Tuesday.

BECKVILLE 3, ELYSIAN FIELDS 0: BECKVILLE — Top-ranked Beckville remained unbeaten on the year, sweeping past Elysian Fields, 25-8, 25-11, 25-5, to open District 16-3A play.

Kinley Pepper handed out 26 assists to go along with 10 digs and four aces for Beckville (24-0). Courtny Nail added 15 digs, Kaylee Hull three aces and seven digs, Riley Seegers two aces, eight kills, four digs and two blocks, Baley McGuire one dig, Payton Jones six kills, eight digs and two blocks, Allison Baker two aces, four kills and five digs, Miranda Mize three kills and two digs and Hannah Humphries seven kills.

Elysian Fields drops to 17-3 with the loss.

Elysian Fields hosts White Oak and Beckville visits Jefferson on Tuesday.

SABINE 3, TST 0: LIBERTY CITY — Miranda Cook hammered home 12 kills to lead Sabine past Trinity School of Texas, 25-12, 25-5, 25-14.

Brookelyn Gray and Sam Bell had seven aces apiece for Sabine. Sierrah Richter added six, Hannah Merritt five, Sarah Davis four and Hagen Dorman three. Kristen Stuart had six kills, Bell four and Jada Carter two. Davis added 13 assists and Richter 11, while Gray led with eight digs. Bell added six, Davis four and Dorman and Richter two apiece.

UNION GROVE 3, KILGORE 1: KILGORE — Summer Grubbs turned in a 13-kill, 10-dig evening, adding seven assists and four aces for Union Grove as the Lady Lions notched a 25-19, 25-21, 19-25, 25-22 win over Kilgore.

Haley Breazeale added 11 digs, seven kills and 15 assists for Union Grove. Lizzie Bible chipped in with six digs and two aces, McCayleigh Daniels 10 digs, Madison Webb six digs, 11 kills and six blocks, Brooke Reeves two digs, five kills and three aces, Kasi Jones six digs and two blocks, Shayla Gallagher five digs and five kills, Madi Newman nine digs and Mariana Gonzalez six digs.

HUGHES SPRINGS 3, PAUL PEWITT 1: HUGHES SPRINGS — The Hughes Springs Lady Mustangs rallied for a 13-25, 25-14, 25-23, 25-17 District 14-3A win over Paul Pewitt.

For Paul Pewitt in the loss, Destiny Jones had four points and four digs, Ebbony Cobbins six points, seven digs and six kills, Reagan Wright one dig, Jacie Crocker four points and five assists, Calli Osmon six points, two digs, two kills and two blocks, Kenzie Traylor five points, four digs, two kills and 11 assists, Brelee Lawings eight points, six digs, eight kills and two blocks, Caitlyn Caldwell two blocks, Lydia Makowiecki 11 points, three aces, three digs, four kill and nine blocks and Montana Laney one dig.

Kensley Echols served up 18 points and Peyton Blythe added 13 for Hughes Springs.

CARLISLE 3, LEVERETT'S CHAPEL 0: LEVERETT'S CHAPEL — Heather Craig ripped 17 kills to go along with seven digs, four aces and two blocks, leading the Carlisle Lady Indians to a 25-16, 25-23, 25-12 sweep of Leverett's Chapel in District 20-2A play.

Aubrey Hart added 13 kills, Haley Fears 11 digs and five aces and Jailin Kee 32 assists, five digs and two aces.

Gracie Bathke had 12 digs and 11 assists in the loss for Leverett's Chapel (12-10). Sara Williamson added four kills, Yesenia Avalos three kills and 13 digs, Skyla Craig 13 digs, Lexus Haley three kills and five digs, Michelle Jamaica three kills and three digs and Aubrey Williamson eight digs.

Carlisle (16-11) will host Gary, and Leverett's Chapel hosts Yantis on Tuesday.

GARY 3, SAN AUGUSTINE 0: GARY — Leann Youngblood's 16 kills, 15 digs and eight aces paced Gary to a 25-11, 25-23, 25-9 sweep of San Augustine.

Madie Davis added eight kills, seven digs, three aces and two blocks for Gary, while Taylor Rodgers handed out 30 assists to go along with five aces and five digs.

ETCS 3, CHS 0: Isabella Hill finished with 12 kills to go along with three aces, three solo blocks and a block assist, leading East Texas Christian School to a 25-23, 25-17, 25-16 win over Christian Heritage School.

Destini Dixon chipped in with two aces, 12 assists and five digs, Micaiah Dixon three kills and five digs, Jaden Parker 14 points, three assists and five digs, Jordan Parker two aces, two digs and 11 points, Abby Truman two digs and Jaelene McElhinney one ace and one dig.

OMEGA 3, HUNTINGTON 1: HUNTINGTON — Alpha Omega Academy notched a 25-19, 25-13, 21-25, 25-20 win over Huntington on Friday.

Karly Williams had two aces and 15 digs for Huntington. Torie Comeaux added 13 kills, Chandlyr McGaughey 14 digs and 22 assists and Tatum Williams 15 digs.
