ET Softball Roundup: Longview rolls over Mesquite, more

LONGVIEW 9, MESQUITE 1: Kennedy Cameron pitched a complete-game three-hitter at Mesquite, and Longview pounded out 16 hits en route to a 9-1 District 11-6A win.

Cameron struck out eight, walked two and did not allow an earned run.

At the plate, LaTrice Davis and Kerris Cameron both doubled, singled and drove in two runs. Jordan McClain, Brooke Goynes and Chandler Peoples had three hits apiece, and Goynes, Alexandria Johnson, Sauntiana Darden and Peoples all drove in a run apiece.

HALLSVILLE 6, MARSHALL 4: MARSHALL — Hallsville rallied from two runs down to earn a 6-4 District 16-5A win over the Marshall Lady Mavs.

Marshall led 4-2 before Hallsville scored three in the sixth and added one in the seventh to earn the victory.

The Ladycats had eight hits on the night. Lorena Ramirez homered in the third inning. Jaydin Ainsworth had one base hit and one RBI. Lauren Anderson went 2-for-4 with one run. Molly Danna reached on two fielder's choices, a double, scored one run and had one RBI. Jesse Smith was hit by a pitch and scored one run. Ainsworth was the starting pitcher as she pitched through the first three innings where she allowed two runs on five hits and struck out one batter. She was relieved by Breanna Ragh who earned the win, pitching two innings, allowing two runs on three hits.

Gabby Moore had three hits for Marshall. Kinley Wilkins singled twice and drove in a run.

CARTHAGE 7, HENDERSON 2: CARTHAGE — Carson Robertson tripled and singled, Chelcie Pierce doubled and drove in two runs and the Carthage Lady Bulldogs notched a 7-2 win over Henderson.

Addison Blissett finished with two hits and a couple of RBIs, and Hope Kruebbe added two hits for Carthage. Kayman Courtney also drove in a run.

Taylor Wills struck out six, walked two and gave up two earned runs on six hits in seven innings for the pitching win.

PITTSBURG 4, LIBERTY-EYLAU 1: PITTSBURG — Abby Hammonds belted a home run an drove in two runs, Kaycee Parker struck out 10 and scattered five hits and the Pittsburg Lady Pirates notched a 4-1 win over Liberty-Eylau.

Parker did not walk a batter in seven innings. Taylor Bullock also drove in two runs, and Mckenna Wood collected two hits for Pittsburg.

CENTER 5, TATUM 1: CENTER — Center tied things with a run in the bottom of the second, adding three in the third and one in the fourth to notch a 5-1 win over Tatum.

Tatum took a 1-0 lead in the top of the second on Adriana Bradley's East Texas-leading 11th home run of the season. Kylee Edgmon added a double for the Lady Eagles.

Essence Allen struck out four and walked two, giving up four earned runs on six hits in six innings to shoulder the pitching loss.

WHITE OAK 10, JEFFERSON 0: JEFFERSON — Jessica Patak struck out 13 and allowed just two hits, and the White Oak Ladynecks rolled to a 10-0 win over Jefferson in District 16-3A play.

Patak walked one and threw strikes on 67 of her 87 pitches.

At the plate, Kara Carter, Maci Teague, KayLynn Larrison and Savannah Wilkinson all doubled for the Ladynecks. Teague had two hits and drove in a run, and Larrison and Alexis Herrera drove in two runs apiece. Kayla Hunter, Kinsey Smith and Madison Malone all contributed RBIs.

Carley Chambers and Ivaline Clark had the lone hits for Jefferson. Hannah Welch took the pitching loss.

HARLETON 11, ORE CITY 1: HARLETON — Randi Carol Phillips homered and earned the pitching win, Claire Underwood paced the offense with three hits and Harleton rolled to an 11-1 District 16-3A win over Ore City.

Phillips struck out 12, walked two and allowed a run on four hits. Her home run was a three-run blast in the first inning.

Claire Underwood drove in a run. Avery Underwood added two hits, and Marlie DeMoney chipped in with a hit and an RBI.

NEW DIANA 6, WASKOM 0: DIANA — Kloe Meador blasted two home runs and drove in three, and Heather Zook was dominant inside the circle for New Diana as the Lady Eagles notched a 6-0 District 16-3A win over Waskom.

McKenna Manes added a double for New Diana, and Kylie Easterling and Haley Johnson drove in runs.

Zook struck out 14, walked four and scattered two hits in seven innings.

Myka Fulce doubled and singled for Waskom.

SABINE 15, WINONA 3: LIBERTY CITY — Calleigh King was dominant inside the circle and helped her own cause with two doubles and an RBI, and Genesis Willett homered, singled and drove in four runs as Sabine rolled to a 15-3 win over Winona.

King struck out six with no walks, allowing no earned runs on just two hits.

Miranda Cook added a double, single and RBI for the Lady Cardinals. Emily Hobbs doubled, singled and drove in two, and Andrea Busby and Madi Rice also drove in runs.

In a 13-12 loss to Troup on Saturday, King tripled, doubled, singled twice and drove in three runs, Hobbs tripled and Cheyenne Bynum added a double, single and two RBIs. Willett and Busby chipped in with two hits apiece, and Busby drove in two runs.

TROUP 10, WEST RUSK 8: TROUP — Troup scored multiple runs in four different innings, holding on for a 10-8 win over West Rusk.

For West Rusk in the loss, Brooklyn Floyd doubled twice and drove in a run, and Meaghan Davis, Makana Morton, Sydnee Martin and Meredith Herron all doubled. Herron also tripled, singled and drove in a run. Davis finished with three hits and an RBI, and Alexandria Hernandez finished with two hits. Davis, Morton and Samantha Floyd all drove in runs.

HARMONY 10, ARP 0: ARP — Mikaelyn Settles pitched a three-hit shutout, Tori Thomas and Katelyn Welborn both went deep and the Harmony Lady Eagles rolled to a 10-0 win over Arp.

Settles struck out 11 and did not walk a batter for the Lady Eagles.

Thomas finished with two hits and three RBIs, and Welborn contributed three hits. Dacy Dawson chipped in with two hits and an RBI, and Hope Howard, Katelyn Seahorn and Kaylee Clemens all drove in runs.

HUGHES SPRINGS 11, DEKALB 1: HUGHES SPRINGS — Marisol Kennedy homered, singled and drove in six runs to pace the offense, and Zoe Lanier held DeKalb's bats in check as Hughes Springs earned an 11-1 win on Tuesday.

Lanier struck out one and allowed one earned run on three hits.

Kennedi Northam and Haylee Wilson both doubled for Hughes Springs. Peyton Blythe, Northam, Kennedy and Shelbie Fickling all banged out two hits, and Pearl Perry and Kensley Echols drove in two runs apiece.

MOUNT VERNON 16, CHISUM 1: PARIS — Madison Whitfield and Riley Hughes both homered for Mount Vernon, and the Lady Tigers banged out 15 hits in a 16-1 win over Chisum.

Whitfield added a double and drove in two runs, and Hughes finished with a double, single and four RBIs. Michayla Deleon tripled, singled and drove in two, and Heather Brown and MyShaia Stanton chipped in with doubles. Annie Coffey had two hits and drove in three.

Whitfield earned the pitching win with three strikeouts and one earned run allowed in three innings. Deleon fanned four and walked one in two innings.

HAWKINS 14, CARLISLE 2: PRICE — Hannah Langford and Raeli Smith both homered, and Hawkins pounded out seven extra base hits on the day en route to a 14-2 win over Carlisle.

Langford also doubled for Hawkins, finishing with two RBIs. Alyssa Eddington and Destiny Chapman tripled, and Chloe Stone and Madison Staruska doubled. Stone had three hits and drove in a run, and Chapman had two hits and two RBIs. Smith drove in three runs, and Jaci Owens chipped in with an RBI.

Haley Fears and Cheyenne Vannier both doubled for Carlisle. Fears and Katelyn Winfrey had two hits apiece, and Vannier and Heather Jones drove in runs.

Staruska struck out six with no walks for the pitching win.

OVERTON 25, BIG SANDY 3: BIG SANDY — Nautika Trotty homered twice and drove in 11 runs, leading Overton past Big Sandy, 25-3.

Trotty added a double and single, scoring three times. Christal Dike finished with a 5-for-5 night, homering, driving in six and scoring four times. Jenny Emmel, Maci Carpenter and Jane Ballew all added three hits, with Emmel driving in a run and Ballew and Carpenter adding two RBIs. Haley McMillan and Jaylin Blakeney had two hits apiece, with Blakeney homering and driving in two. Kameron Martin also drove in a run, and Macy Wall scored three times.

Blakeney struck out four to earn the pitching win.


UNION GROVE 10, UNION HILL 0: UNION GROVE — Madelynn Lacaze homered, tripled, singled and drove in four runs to pace the offense, and Maddie Clowers and Kasi Jones combined to limit Union Hill to a couple of hits as Union Grove notched a 10-0 win.

Lizzie Bible, Savanna Chambliss, Bailey Wilder and Natalie Hammett all doubled for Union Grove. Chambliss finished with three hits and three RBIs. Wilder had two hits and drove in a run, and Hammett and Paige Summers added RBIs.

Clowers fanned seven and walked one in 3.2 innings, and Jones struck out four with no walks in two frames.
