ET Softball Roundup: Bullard edges Spring Hill, more

BULLARD 6, SPRING HILL 5: BULLARD — A five-run deficit was too much to overcome for Spring Hill as the Lady Panthers dropped a 6-5 decision to Bullard in District 15-4A play.

Sydney Johnson homered, doubled, singled and drove in four runs in the loss for the Lady Panthers, who trailed 3-0 after two innings and 5-0 heading to the sixth. The Lady Panthers scored twice in the top of the sixth and three times in the seventh, but Bullard tacked on what proved to be the game-winner in the bottom of the sixth.

Kaylin McWhorter and Maddie Malloy had two hits apiece for Spring Hill, with Lacey White driving in a run.

McWhorter struck out one and allowed one earned run in the loss.

MOUNT PLEASANT 11, MARSHALL 1: MARSHALL — The Marshall lady Mavs dropped an 11-1 decision in District 16-5A play against Mount Pleasant in a game called after five innings due to the 10-run mercy rule.

Marshall now holds an overall record of 4-21 and 0-4 in District 16-5A play. The Lady Tigers advanced to 17-5 overall and 5-0 in district.

Marshall was only able to squeeze out two hits on the night. Gabby Moore came up with a double and Chloe Buchannan had a single and one RBI.

Mount Pleasant's Ashleigh Cheek hit a home run, reached on a walk and scored on two runs. Blakely Cheek reached on two walks, a fielder's choice and scored two runs. Jordan Dickerson got on with a fielder's choice, a double, scored two runs and had one RBI. Bree Smallwood homered, and scored a total of three runs. Kamille Gill went 1-for-3 with a double and one RBI. Averie Ayers went 0-for-2 but reached on a walk and scored one run. Bree Smallwood was the winning pitcher as she threw five innings, allowing two hits, no walks and struck out five batters.

CHAPEL HILL 5, KILGORE 4: KILGORE — Chapel Hill scored twice in the second and third frames and held on for a 5-4 District 16-4A win over Kilgore.

Mackenzie Cavanaugh had two hits, including a triple, and scored twice in the loss for Kilgore. Bailey Downing and Aubree Norris both singled, with Norris driving in two runs.

Kristen Wilson took the loss for Kilgore. She struck out two, walked two and hit two. Sydney Balderrama fanned five, walked one and hit one to earn the pitching win for Chapel Hill.

Kilgore (12-11, 0-2) will host Bullard on Friday.

GLADEWATER 7, GILMER 5: GILMER — Gladewater pushed across three runs in the top of the fifth inning and held on for a 7-5 District 15-4A win over Gilmer.

For Gilmer in the loss, Madeline Barber tripled, Jade Ramthun drove in two runs and Bri McAlister added an RBI.

Barber struck out 12 and walked four, giving up one run in the loss. Murphy Williams fanned nine with no walks or no earned runs allowed.

CARTHAGE 4, RUSK 2: RUSK — Taylor Wills struck out eight with no walks, Carson Robertson homered and drove in two runs and the Carthage Lady Bulldogs rallied for a 4-2 win over Rusk.

Wills did not walk a batter and allowed two earned runs on seven hits in eight innings.

The Lady Bulldogs trailed 2-0 before scoring two in the top of the sixth and adding two in the top of the eighth.

Addison Blissett, Kalli Cuff, Kimberlyn Worsham and Hope Kruebbe all added hits, and Chelcie Pierce drove in a run.

HENDERSON 12, TATUM 2: TATUM — Brianna Robinson homered and drove in three runs while also earning the pitching win for Henderson as the Lady Lions rolled to a 12-2 win over Tatum.

Robinson struck out 10 and walked one, scattering four hits in five innings.

Maggi Dickerson doubled, singled and drove in two runs for Henderson. Milee Green added two hits and three RBIs, and Katelyn Odom finished with two hits and an RBI. Kaylie Clark and Caitlin Shippey also had two hits.

For Tatum in the loss, Kylee Edgmon had two hits and an RBI, and Adriana Bradley drove in a run.

PITTSBURG 8, PARIS 0: PITTSBURG — Bailey Smith struck out 17 and walked one, allowing just one hit in six innings as the Pittsburg Lady Pirates notched an 8-0 win over Paris.

At the plate, Mckenna Wood tripled and drove in a run, and Taylor Bullock doubled and plated two runs. Bailey Smith and Sydney Waldrep added two RBIs apiece, and Madison Sansom also drove in a run. Waldrep finished with three hits.

WHITE OAK 12, WASKOM 0: WHITE OAK — Jessica Patak struck out 12 in five innings, and White Oak banged out five extra base hits en route to a 12-0 win over Waskom in District 16-3A play.

Patak walked one and helped herself with a double and an RBI.

KayLynn Larrison collected three hits, including a double, and drove in a run. Ryan Owens, Kinsey Smith and Kayla Hunter all doubled, with Kara Carter, Owens and Kinsey Smith finishing with two hits apiece. Samantha McGrew, Hunter, Smith and Alexis Herrera drove in two runs apiece, and Maci Teague added an RBI for the Ladynecks.

Michaela Latham struck out three in the loss for Waskom. Jordan Cullum singled for the Lady Wildcats.

NEW DIANA 6, ORE CITY 5: ORE CITY — Kloe Meador homered, singled twice and drove in two runs, and New Diana rallied for a 6-5 win over Ore City in District 16-3A play.

Heather Zook and Madi Brown added a double and single apiece for New Diana, which trailed 3-0 after one and 5-2 heading to the fifth before putting five on the board.

Shelby Meshell and Kylie Easterling drove in runs for New Diana. Joelle Newton struck out three and walked one in 6.2 innings, and Rebecca Bates added one strikeout.

Hannah Pendarvis homered, doubled and drove in two runs in the loss for Ore City. Andi Freeman had three hits and an RBI, and Abbi Smith doubled, singled and drove in a run.

Morgan Clawson struck out seven and walked one in the loss.

JEFFERSON 7, ELYSIAN FIELDS 4: ELYSIAN FIELDS — Allison Dupree and Hannah Welch drove in two runs apiece, and Jefferson used a five-run third inning to take control of things en route to a 7-4 District 16-3A win over Elysian Fields.

Dupree had two hits, and Nia Garrett and Jaden Carter also drove in runs for Jefferson.

Welch earned the pitching win. She struck out five, walked three and allowed one earned run.

For Elysian Fields in the loss, Sarah Findley tripled, Holly Holden doubled and drove in a run and Shayla Mathews added a hit an an RBI. Bri Chandler also drove in a run.

Holden took the loss. She struck out two in two innings. Mathews struck out six, walked seven and gave up one earned run in five innings.

HARLETON 5, BECKVILLE 0: BECKVILLE — Randi Carol Phillips fanned 13 with no walks, scattering four hits in seven innings as the Harleton Lady Wildcats notched a 5-0 District 16-3A win over Beckville.

Hailey Pyland homered and drove in two runs, and Brooke Weaver doubled and plated two for the Lady Wildcats.

Madi LaGrone doubled in the loss for Beckville.

SABINE 6, WEST RUSK 3: LIBERTY CITY — Miranda Cook struck out 15, walking none and giving up just two earned runs in seven innings as the Sabine Lady Cardinals rallied for a 6-3 win over West Rusk.

Cook kept Sabine in the game long enough for the Lady Cardinals to score five in the sixth to take control of things.

Cheyenne Bynum tripled and drove in a run for Sabine. Genesis Willett and Sam Bell both doubled and drove in runs. Calleigh King and Cook had two hits apiece, with Cook driving in a run, and Misty Pate and Jada Carter both drove in runs for the Lady Cardinals.

For West Rusk in the loss, Sydnee Martin and Meredith Herron tripled, and Makana Morton doubled and drove in a run. Martin also drove in one for West Rusk.

Brooklyn Floyd struck out six and walked two in the loss for the Lady Raiders.

HARMONY 20, WINONA 0: WINONA — Mikaelyn Settles and Katelyn Seahorn combined on a three-inning perfect game, and Tori Thomas paced the offense with a triple and five RBIs as Harmony earned a 20-0 win over Winona.

Seahorn earned the win, striking out two in two innings. Settles fanned all three batters she faced in one inning of work.

Settles and Seahorn both doubled for Harmony, with Settles adding three singles and driving in two runs and Seahorn adding three RBIs.

Katelyn Welborn had two hits and two RBIs, and Marlee Seahorn, Kaylee Clemens, Hope Howard and Dacy Dawson all drove in runs.

OVERTON 9, UNION HILL 5: OVERTON — Jaylin Blakeney earned the pitching win and collected three hits, leading the Overton Lady Mustangs to a 9-5 win over Union Hill.

Blakeney struck out 10 and waked one while singling three times and scoring three times. Christal Dike added three hits and drove in two runs. Maci Carpenter chipped in with two hits and an RBI, and Nautika Trotty and Jane Ballew drove in runs.

CARLISLE 10, UNION GROVE 0: PRICE — Cheyenne Vannier banged out three hits, including a double, and drove in two runs as the Carlisle Lady Indians backed the shutout pitching of Tori Esters with 13 hits in a 10-0 win over Union Grove.

Hagan Grigsby drove in two runs, and Esters had two hits for Carlisle.

Bailey Wilder, Paige Summers and Moriah Chasteen all had hits in the loss for Union Grove.

Kasi Jones fanned four and walked one in the loss.


HUGHES SPRINGS 12, QUEEN CITY 0: QUEEN CITY — Haylee Wilson singled twice and drove in four runs to pace the offense, and Marisol Kennedy tossed a two-hit shutout for Hughes Springs as the Lady Mustangs rolled to a 12-0 win over Queen City.

Kennedy struck out three with no walks in five innings and also doubled, singled and drove in three runs. Katelyn Roth had two hits and an RBI. Kennedi Northam drove in two runs, and Peyton Blythe and Abbye McKinney also drove in runs for Hughes Springs.
