ET Softball Roundup: Rockwall downs Longview, more

ROCKWALL 15, LONGVIEW 4: Rockwall scored seven times in the top of the seventh to turn a close game into a rout, earning a 15-4 District 11-6A win over the Longview Lady Lobos.

Erica Speer and Hannah Frank drove in three runs apiece for Rockwall.

For the Lady Lobos in the loss, Alexandria Johnson doubled, singled twice and drove in a run and Brooke Goynes added three hits. Shae Darden and LaTrice Davis both drove in runs.

Kennedy Cameron struck out two with no walks and three earned runs allowed in 5.1 innings. Jianna Miller gave up three earned runs in 1.2 frames.

TEXAS HIGH 7, PINE TREE 4: TEXARKANA — Texas High erupted for five runs in the bottom of the first inning, holding on for a 7-4 District 16-5A win over Pine Tree.

Robin Jackson tripled once and singled twice for Pine Tree in the loss. Riley Kennedy had two hits and two RBIs, and Madalyn Alexander chipped in with two hits for Pine Tree.

Alexander took the pitching loss. She struck out eight and walked one in six innings.

SULPHUR SPRINGS 14, HALLSVILLE 0: SULPHUR SPRINGS — The Sulphur Springs Lady Wildcats opened up a 3-0 lead early and used a four-run third and seven-run seventh to end things quickly in a 14-0 District 16-5A win over Hallsville.

Hallsville managed two hits — singles by Hailey Krchnak and Jaydin Ainsworth.

HENDERSON 12, SPRING HILL 2: HENDERSON — Brianna Robinson was too much for Spring Hill inside the circle and at the plate, earning the pitching win and driving in four runs to lead Henderson to a 12-2 win over the Lady Panthers.

Robinson struck out 14, walked two and allowed four hits in six innings for the pitching win. At the dish, she homered, doubled and drove in four. Maggi Dickerson drove in two runs for the Lady Lions, and Caitlin Shippey added two hits and an RBI. Tori Lee, Katelyn Odom and Jamie Bowman all drove in runs for Henderson.

For Spring Hill in the loss, Sydney Johnson homered and doubled, and Jayla Landrum added a double. Maddie Malloy also drove in a run for Spring Hill.

Kaylin McWhorter shouldered the loss.

CARTHAGE 5, HUNTINGTON 1: CARTHAGE — Taylor Wills held Huntington's bats in check, allowing four hits and one earned run, and Addison Blissett did the damage for Carthage offensively with a triple and three RBIs as the Lady Bulldogs notched a 5-1 win.

Wills struck out three and walked three. Kaitlynn Earle doubled for Carthage, and Teagen Barker drove in a run.

GLADEWATER 10, ARP 0: GLADEWATER — Murphy Williams struck out eight and helped her own cause on offense with three hits and a couple of RBIs, leading Gladewater to a 10-0 win over Arp.

Caitlyn Mackey doubled once, singled twice and drove in a run for the Lady Bears. Cylie Wragg tripled and drove in one, and Lily Cahal had two hits and two RBIs.

WHITE OAK 9, ELYSIAN FIELDS 1: WHITE OAK — Jessica Patak struck out 10, walked one and scattered six hits in a complete game, and White Oak used a balanced offensive attack to earn a 9-1 District 16-3A win over Elysian Fields.

Kinsey Smith tripled and drove in a run for White Oak. Alexis Herrera had three hits and an RBI, and KayLynn Larrison, Patak, Maci Teague and Savannah Wilkinson all drove in runs.

Elysian Fields' lone run came on a solo home run by Sarah Findley in the top of the fourth inning.

HARLETON 7, WASKOM 1: WASKOM — Avery Underwood banged out four hits, drove in two and scored twice from the leadoff spot, and the Harleton Lady Wildcats earned a 7-1 District 16-3A win over Waskom.

Haley Pyland and Claire Underwood added two hits apiece for Harleton (8-9, 2-1).

Marlie DeMoney struck out one and walked two in 4.1 innings of work to earn the pitching win. Randi Carol Phillips fanned four with no walks in relief.

Michaela Latham struck out two and walked one in seven innings to take the loss.

Myka Fulce doubled, and Cheyenne Pickens had an RBI for Waskom.

NEW DIANA 10, JEFFERSON 0: DIANA — Heather Zook and Rebecca Bates combined to shut out Jefferson, and Kylie Easterling and Kloe Meador drove in two runs apiece as New Diana rolled to a 10-0 win in District 16-3A action.

Zook struck out six, walked one and allowed one hit in four innings. Bates fanned one in her inning of work.

Madi Brown tripled and drove in a run, and Easterling had a double and single. McKenna Manes, Zook and Brooklynn Manes all added RBIs, and McKenna Manes finished with two hits.

Allison Dupree had the lone hit for Jefferson. Hannah Welch struck out five and walked two in the loss.

ORE CITY 8, BECKVILLE 3: BECKVILLE — Ore City did most of its damage in the first inning, scoring six times and holding on for an 8-3 win over Beckville in District 16-3A action.

Brandee Gabaldon tripled, singled and drove in two for Ore City, and Bayleigh Larkins added a double, single and two RBIs. Cassie Gabaldon also collected two hits, and Shasta Hickman drove in two runs. Hannah Pendarvis chipped in with an RBI for the Lady Rebels.

For Beckville in the loss, Shelley Pierce, Kimberly Baker and Madi LaGrone all doubled, with LaGrone adding a single. Baker drove in a run.

Morgan Clawson earned the pitching win. She struck out seven and walked one, giving up no earned runs on six hits. Kinley Pepper took the loss for Beckville.

HUGHES SPRINGS 17, DAINGERFIELD 1: HUGHES SPRINGS — Hughes Springs used the long ball and a 13-run third inning to power past Daingerfield, 17-1, in District 14-3A action.

Haylee Wilson homered, singled and drove in five runs for the Lady Mustangs. Shelbie Fickling and Peyton Blythe also homered for Hughes Springs, with Blythe adding two singles and driving in two and Fickling adding two RBIs. Pearl Perry doubled, singled and drove in two, and Calli Stewart and Kennedi Northam also drove in runs.

Zoe Lanier struck out seven with no walks and two hits allowed for the pitching win.

OVERTON 10, NEW SUMMERFIELD 0: OVERTON — Jaylin Blakeney earned the pitching win and had three hits to help her cause offensively in a 10-0 District 19-2A win over New Summerfield.

Blakeney struck out seven, walked one and allowed two hits, while going 3-for-3 with a triple, double, single, two RBI and three runs scored. Haley McMillan doubled and drove in a run. Maci Carpenter added a single and two RBI, and Cristal Dike, Macy Wall, Jane Ballew and Penny Stracener all drove in runs.

HAWKINS 9, UNION GROVE 1: HAWKINS — A five-run sixth inning led Hawkins to a 9-1 win over Union Grove.

Chloe Stone, Destiny Chapman, Hannah Langford, Natalie Smith, Silvia Montgomery, Madison Staruska and Alyssa Eddington all had one hit for Hawkins.


CARLISLE 3, LAPOYNOR 2: LARUE — Keylee Adair doubled and drove in a run for Carlisle, and Tori Esters limited LaPoynor to a couple of runs on four hits as the Lady Indians notched a 3-2 win.

Esters struck out two and also drove in a run. Hagen Grigsby drove in one for Carlisle.
