Sabine's Faulkner to play basketball at next level
Sabine High School graduate Lynzee Faulkner will get the opportunity to continue her academic and athletic career at the next level after recently signing a national letter-of-intent to play basketball at Calvary University.
Calvary, located in Kansas City, Missouri, in June became a member of the National Christian College Athletic Association's North Region.
"Lynzee is not only a great athlete, but an outstanding student, teammate and a person with great character," Sabine coach Sara Cantrell said. "I only had the privilege of coaching Lynzee one year, but she quickly proved to be a hardworking, trustworthy captain of our playoff-bound team. We are very proud of Lynzee and are excited to see what the future holds for her at Calvary University.
Faulkner played in 29 games for the Lady Cardinals last season, averaging 2.8 points and five rebounds per contest.
"She (Faulkner) will add a strong defensive presence in our man-to-man defense and our 1-2-2 zone," Calvary coach Tressa Shoemaker said. "She will be a great addition to our fast-paced triangle offense this season."
Calvary will compete in the NCCAA's North Region along with Faith Baptist Bible College, Maranatha Baptist University, Moody Bible Institute, North Central University, Oak Hills Christian College, Providence University College, Trinity Bible College and Emmaus Bible College.
