ET Softball Roundup: Hallsville routs Pine Tree, more

HALLSVILLE 16, PINE TREE 1: Hailey Krchnak belted a grand slam, Taylor Freeman drove in three runs and the Hallsville Ladycats rolled to a 16-1 District 16-5A win over the Pine Tree Lady Pirates.

Hallsville led 8-1 before scoring eight in the top of the sixth.

Lorena Ramirez and Freeman both doubled or the Ladycats. Ramirez. Ashley Langley added four hits and an RBI. Ramirez had three hits and drove in a run. Lauren Anderson finished with two hits and an RBI. Sierra Sacky drove in two runs, and Jaydin Ainsworth and Molly Danna also drove in runs for the Ladycats.

Madalyn Alexander had two hits, and Julie Waddell chipped in with a hit in the loss for Pine Tree. Waddell drove in a run.

Ainsworth struck out six, waked four and allowed one earned run for the pitching win.

CHAPEL HILL 11, SPRING HILL 6: NEW CHAPEL HILL — Chapel Hill put together a pair of three-run innings early to build a big lead, and held off a late charge by Spring Hill to notch an 11-6 win in District 15-4A play.

Sydney Johnson homered and singled for the Lady Panthers in the loss. Maddie Malloy tripled and drove in a run, and Lacey White added a double and two singles. Kaylin McWhorter finished with two hits, and Caton Hawkins, Jayla Landrum and Avery Osburg all drove in runs.

McWhorter shouldered the pitching loss. She struck out two and walked six.

GILMER 5, KILGORE 0: KILGORE — Madeline Barber tossed a three-hit shutout at Kilgore, striking out 15 with no walks as Gilmer notched a 5-0 District 15-4A win.

Mallery Stanley, Barber and Shannie Jones all doubled for Gilmer, with Stanley and Liz Hamilton adding two hits and Hamilton, Jones and Barber driving in runs.

Mackenzie Cavanaugh had two hits, including a double, in the loss for Kilgore. Elizabeth Idlett chipped in with a single.

Kristin Wilson struck out seven with no walks, allowing four earned runs in the loss.

RUSK 3, TATUM 0: RUSK — Tatum Goff struck out 19 and allowed just two hits and no walks, leading the Rusk Lady Eagles to a 3-0 win over Tatum.

Both of Tatum's hits came from Destiny Hicks, who doubled and singled.

Essence Allen fanned four, walked four and allowed one earned run on four hits in the loss.

WHITE OAK 5, NEW DIANA 3: WHITE OAK — Alexis Herrera drove in two runs, Jessica Patak struck out nine and the White Oak Ladynecks rallied for a 5-3 win over New Diana in District 16-3A play.

Herrera doubled and singled for the Ladynecks, and Samantha McGrew and Kara Carter chipped in with singles.

Patak walked one and allowed three earned runs on nine hits in seven innings.

Kylie Easterling homered once and singled twice in the loss for New Diana. Heather Zook doubled, singled and drove in a run, and Kloe Meador drove in one for the Lady Eagles.

Zook took the pitching loss. She struck out four and walked two, giving up three earned runs.

HARLETON 2, ELYSIAN FIELDS 0: ELYSIAN FIELDS — Harleton made the most of three hits, using a strong performance inside the circle from Randi Carol Phillips and a couple of one-run innings to earn a 2-0 District 16-3A win over Elysian Fields.

Phillips struck out eight, walked one and scattered four hits in the complete-game shutout. Hailey Pyland tripled, and Brooke Weaver singled twice and drove in a run to pace the offense.

Sarah Findley tripled and doubled in the loss for Elysian Fields.

BECKVILLE 10, WASKOM 9: BECKVILLE — Shelley Pierce capped a big day at the plate with a two-out walk-off RBI single, leading Beckville to a 10-9 win over Waskom in District 16-3A play.

Pierce finished the day 5-for-5 with two doubles, four RBIs and two runs scored. Kimberly Baker added four hits. Baley McGuire finished with three hits and an RBI, and Sarah Gray and Bailey Jones had two hits apiece. Gray drove in three runs, and Madi LaGrone and Jones drove in runs. McGuire, Kimberly Baker and Jones doubled, and Gray doubled twice for the Ladycats.

Bree Launey homered, singled and drove in two runs for Waskom. Kourtney Sanders drove in three runs, and Jordan Cullum added a couple of RBIs. Myka Fulce also drove in a run for the Lady Wildcats.

Kinley Pepper earned the pitching win. She fanned one and walked two in 3.2 innings. Ally LaGrone fanned three and walked two in 3.1 innings.

ORE CITY 10, JEFFERSON 3: ORE CITY — The Ore City Lady Rebels used an eight-run fourth to take control of the contest en route to a 10-3 District 16-3A win over Jefferson.

Hannah Pendarvis had a double, single and three RBIs to pace Ore City, which clinched a playoff spot. Bayleigh Larkins added two hits, including a double, and two RBIs. Andi Freeman singled, scored twice and drove in a run, and Shasta Hickman doubled once and scored twice.

Morgan Clawson struck out three and walked one, giving up three earned runs in a complete game outing.

Taylor Fuquay and Kiara Jones doubled in the loss for Jefferson, with Ivaline Clark and Fuquay driving in runs.

Hannah Welch struck out seven, walked five and gave up four earned runs in the loss.

HARMONY 9, SABINE 1: LIBERTY CITY — Hope Howard singled three times and drove in a run, Mikaelyn Settles was dominant inside the circle for Harmony and the Lady Eagles rolled to a 9-1 win over Sabine.

Settles struck out 14, walked five and allowed one earned run on two hits for the pitching win. Dacy Dawson added two hits and an RBI, and Alexa Makowsky drove in a run. Makowsky and Kaylee Clemens doubled for Harmony, and Dawson had a triple.

Genesis Willett and Cheyenne Bynum had the lone hits for Sabine. Bynum drove in a run.

HUGHES SPRINGS 4, HOOKS 1: HOOKS — Shelbie Fickling belted a three-run home run in the top of the third, leading the Hughes Springs Lady Mustangs to a 4-1 win over Hooks.

Kennedi Northam had two hits, and Katelyn Roth drove in a run for Hughes Springs, which trailed 1-0 after one.

Zoe Lanier earned the pitching win for Hughes Springs. She struck out one, walked two and allowed one earned run on four hits in five innings. Marisol Kennedy fanned four with no walks or earned runs allowed in two innings.

CARLISLE 8, OVERTON 1: PRICE — Keylee Adair banged out three hits, Katelyn Winfrey drove in three runs and the Carlisle Lady Indians pulled away late for an 8-1 win against Overton.

Heather Jones, Cheyenne Vannier and Adair all doubled for Carlisle, which led 4-0 before scoring four in the fifth to take control. Adair and Tori Esters drove in two runs apiece, and Jones, Haley Fears and Allison Gray finished with two hits apiece. Jones also drove in a run.

Haley McMillian and Jaylin Blakeney had the lone hits for Overton. Maci Carpenter drove in the lone Lady Mustang run.

Esters earned the pitching win for Carlisle. She struck out eight, walked four and allowed one earned run on two hits.
