ET Baseball Roundup: Marshall downs Greenville, more

MARSHALL 5, GREENVILLE 2: MARSHALL — Sam Jones homered and doubled, Cade Bickerdike drove in two runs and the Marshall Mavericks notched a 5-2 District 16-5A win over Greenville.

Cameron Haller and Trevor Clark also doubled for the Mavericks, with Kolten Roberson and Clark driving in runs.

Clark earned the pitching win, striking out nine with four walks and two earned runs allowed on three his in seven innings of work.

WHITE OAK 5, NEW DIANA 4, 9 INNINGS: WHITE OAK — Layton Anderson's single plated Dalton Sumrow with the game-winner, and the White Oak Roughnecks walked off with a 5-4 win in nine innings against New Diana in 16-3A play.

The Roughnecks trailed 4-3 heading to the bottom of the ninth before loading the bases and tying it when Taylor Meaux was hit by a pitch. Anderson followed with the game-winner.

Brandon Cook and Kason Kienzle both doubled and singled, and Sumrow had two hits for the Roughnecks.

Meaux earned the pitching win with three innings of relief. Anderson started and worked six, striking out five and walking one.

Jacob Burton took the loss in relief for New Diana after Tristan Swain worked the first seven frames.

BECKVILLE 12, WASKOM 0: WASKOM — Zeke Collins and Austin Bryan combined to pitch a one-hit shutout, and four Bearcats drove in two runs apiece as Beckville cruised to a 12-0 District 16-3A win over Waskom.

Collins struck out four, walked one and allowed one hit in three innings, and Bryan fanned three with one walk in two frames.

At the dish, Bryce Osborn homered, singled and drove in a run. Ethan Harris doubled and drove in two runs, and Trey Lindsay, Zach Collins and Ben Bridges all added a couple of RBIs. Zeke Collins added an RBI for the Bearcats.

ORE CITY 4, JEFFERSON 3: ORE CITY — The Ore City Rebels rallied for two runs in the bottom of the seventh, walking off with a 4-3 District 16-3A win over Jefferson.

Ty Freeman had two hits and two RBIs for the Rebels. Treston Hooper doubled and singled. Colton Weir added a double and an RBI.

Ty Freeman fanned seven with no walks and three earned runs allowed in five innings for the Rebels. Aaron Nigreville struck out three with no walks, allowing no earned runs on two hits in two innings.

Todd Polver doubled once, singled twice and drove in a run for Jefferson. Mason Reeves added two hits and an RBI. Brennan Varnell drove in a run, and Nate Gibbons doubled.

SABINE 16, ARP 3: ARP — Tristan Green doubled four times and drove in five runs to pace a 17-hit attack, leading the Sabine Cardinals to a 16-3 win over Arp.

Will Shawn added three hits, including a pair of doubles, and scored three times for the Cardinals. Cheyenne Compton doubled, singled and drove in three runs. Jaedon Pratt had two hits and an RBI, and Tanner Hardee doubled for the Cardinals.

Shawn picked up the pitching win. He struck out 10, walked one and allowed three runs on three hits in five innings.

UNION GROVE 5, UNION HILL 1: UNION GROVE — Tanner Stanley struck out 11 in a two-hit gem on the hill, and Union Grove notched a 5-1 win over Union Hill.

Stanley walked one and allowed one earned run. Austin Owens and Brennon Daughtry had the lone hits for the Lions.

Union Hill got hits from Colt Mallory and Riley Griffith, and Griffith drove in a run.

Colton Wade fanned seven, walked three and allowed one earned run on two hits in the loss for the Bulldogs.

LINDEN-KILDARE 12, RIVERCREST 1: Trent Wert improved to 5-3 on the mound, striking out four and walking one, and Marty Johnson paced the offense with two hits and three RBIs in a 12-1 Linden-Kildare win over Rivercrest.

Nic Kunze doubled, singled and drove in a run, and Trey Schuler and Caleb Cunningham had two hits apiece. Schuler drove in two runs, and Cunningham added an RBI.

OVERTON 9, BIG SANDY 3: BIG SANDY — Levi McCasland banged out three hits and drove in four runs, leading the Overton Mustangs to a 9-3 win over Big Sandy.

Luke Osburn, Nick Croteau and Joe Clark all doubled for the Mustangs. Gavin Flanagan, Crawford Bobbitt and Clark had two hits apiece, with Bobbitt, Bailey Martin and Tanner Lee driving in runs.

Martin earned the mound victory. He fanned nine and walked four in six innings, allowing on earned run on three hits.

GARY 10, MARTINSVILLE 0: GARY — Collin Coleman fanned nine in six innings, allowing just two hits and walking one as Gary rolled to a 10-0 win over Martinsville.

Kenneth Andrews doubled, singled twice and drove in two runs for the Bobcats. Coper Watkins, Travis Mason and Collin Coleman all had two hits, with Coleman driving in three runs, Mason adding two RBIs and Watkins doubling. Brandon storm, Cason Daniels and Ethan Askins chipped in with a hit and an RBI apiece.
