ET Softball Roundup: Texas High downs Pine Tree, more

TEXAS HIGH 4, PINE TREE 2: Pine Tree rallied late, but came up short and dropped a 4-2 decision to Texas High in District 16-5A action.

Ambreenique Williams tripled for the Lady Pirates, driving in a run. Na'Keyia Fisher and Cheyenne Thurmond had the only other Pine Tree hits.

Madalyn Alexander struck out five, walked five and did not allow an earned run in the pitching loss.

SULPHUR SPRINGS 4, HALLSVILLE 2: HALLSVILLE — Sulphur Springs built a 4-0 lead early and made it stand, holding on for a 4-2 District 16-5A win over the Hallsville Ladycats.

Sierra Sacky doubled and drove in a run for Hallsville. Ashlea Langley, Emily Morin and Hailey Krchnak all had two hits, and Jaydin Ainsworth chipped in with an RBI for the Ladycats.

Ainsworth struck out five and walked five to shoulder the pitching loss.

KILGORE 10, SPRING HILL 9: KILGORE — Mackenzie Harrison delivered a walk-off, two-run double in the bottom of the seventh, and Kilgore rallied from an 8-0 deficit to notch a 10-9 District 15-4A win over Spring Hill.

Kilgore trailed 8-1 heading to the fifth before scoring five times to get back in the game. Spring Hill added a run in the sixth to make it a 9-6 contest, but the Lady Bulldogs came all the way back in the seventh.

Hailee Jo Lewis led off the Kilgore seventh with a walk, and Kristen Wilson followed with her third home run of the season to make it an 9-8 game. After Elizabeth Idlett walked and Aubree Norris singled, Harrison came through with the game-winning double.

Wilson finished with two hits and four RBIs on the day. Idlett had two hits, and Lewis also drove in a run.

Maddie Malloy homered, singled twice and drove in three runs in the loss for Spring Hill. Caton Hawkins added a triple and a double. Kaylin McWhorter doubled. Sarah Jones had three hits and two RBIs. Lacey White drove in a run and finished with two hits, and Jayla Landrum also had two hits and an RBI. Avery Osburg chipped in with an RBI.

Wilson earned the pitching win. She struck out five and walked three. McWhorter took the loss, fanning five and walking three.

CARTHAGE 11, CENTER 4: CENTER — Four Lady Bulldogs drove in two runs apiece, and Carthage rallied for an 11-4 win over Center on Tuesday.

The Lady Bulldogs trailed 4-0 before scoring six in the sixth and five in the seventh.

Kayman Courtney and Teagan Barker both doubled for Carthage. Addison Blissett and Barker had two hits and two RBIs apiece, and Kimberlyn Worsham and Courtney also drove in a couple of runs. Kalli Cuff plated one for the Lady Bulldogs.

Taylor Wills struck out eight and walked two to earn the pitching win for Carthage.

PITTSBURG 6, ATLANTA 0: ATLANTA — Bailey Smith and Kaycee Parker combined to toss a one-hit shutout at Atlanta, and Abby Hammonds banged out three hits to lead the way offensively in a 6-1 Pittsburg win.

Smith struck out three and walked two in four innings, and Parker fanned one with no walks in her three innings of work.

Smith also had two his and drove in a run. Sydney Reynolds singed and plated two runs, and Sydney Waldrep, Parker and Taylor Bullock all drove in runs.

WHITE OAK 6, ELYSIAN FIELDS 1: ELYSIAN FIELDS — Jessica Patak struck out 13 and walked one, and Samantha McGrew paced the offense with two hits and three RBIs as White Oak notched a 6-1 District 16-3A win over Elysian Fields.

Patak went the distance inside the circle, throwing 72 of her 110 pitches for strikes.

Patak and Kinsey Smith added two hits apiece, and KayLynn Larrison drove in two runs.

Kayla Evans, Shay Lucus and Sarah Findley had hits for Elysian Fields in the loss. Shayla Mathews struck out seven and walked five in the loss.

NEW DIANA 10, JEFFERSON 0: JEFFERSON — Madi Brown homered, singled and drove in two runs, Heather Zook tossed a one-hitter and the New Diana Lady Eagles rolled to a 10-0 District 16-3A win over Jefferson.

Zook struck out seven and walked one in five innings and helped her own cause at the plate with two doubles and two runs scored. Kylie Easterling and Kloe Meador had two hits apiece, with Easterling driving in three runs. McKenna Manes chipped in with a single and two RBIs.

Ivaline Clark had the lone hit for Jefferson. Hannah Welch struck out four and walked two in the loss.

ORE CITY 4, BECKVILLE 3: ORE CITY — Bayleigh Larkins singled to drive in courtesy runner Stormie Tolar in the bottom of the seventh, and Ore City walked off with a 4-3 District 16-3A win over Beckville.

Beckville scored three in the top of the first on RBIs by Kimberly Baker, Shelley Pierce and Bailey Jones, but Ore City scored once in the third and twice in the fourth to tie it.

In the seventh, Hannah Pendarvis led off with a double, and Tolar came on to run.

Tori Pena had two hits and an RBI for Ore City. Andi Freeman finished with three hits and an RBI, and Morgan Clawson had two hits and drove in one.

Clawson earned the pitching win. She struck out seven with no walks in seven innings.

HUGHES SPRINGS 26, DAINGERFIELD 0: DAINGERFIELD — Hughes Springs erupted for 14 runs in the first inning, and put things away early as Zoe Lanier tossed a no-hitter at Daingerfield in a 26-0 win.

Lanier struck out six and walked two, and the Lady Mustangs finished with 13 hits.

Kensley Echols, Charlie Reeves, Shelbie Fickling, Haylee Wilson, Marisol Kennedy and Calli Stewart all doubled for Hughes Springs. Echols finished with three hits and four RBIs, and Stewart and Reeves had two hits apiece. Peyton Blythe drove in four runs. Reeves added three RBIs. Pearl Perry, Fickling and Kennedy all drove in two, and Kennedi Northam and Katelyn Roth had an RBI apiece.

HARMONY 11, TROUP 1: TROUP — Harmony pulled away in a close game, scoring seven runs in the final two innings en route to an 11-1 win over Troup.

Mikaelyn Settles homered, doubled, singled and drove in two runs for the Lady Eagles, and Katelyn Welborn added a home run, single and five RBIs. Kaylee Clemens finished with a double, single and two RBIs, and Tori Thomas also drove in a run.

Settles struck out seven with no walks, allowing four hits in seven innings for the pitching win.

WEST RUSK 16, WINONA 1: WINONA — Makana Morton hit her 10th home run of the season, adding a double, four RBIs and two stolen bases, as the West Rusk Lady Raiders rolled to a 16-1 win over Winona.

Brooklyn Floyd, Meredith Herron and Sydney Martin all had two hits and drove in two runs, and Maeghan Davis swiped two bases.

Morton and Natalie Farrow handled the pitching chores for West Rusk.

OVERTON 19, NEW SUMMERFIELD 1: NEW SUMMERFIELD — Jaylin Blakeney and Christal Dike collected three hits and three RBIs apiece, leading the Overton Lady Mustangs to a 19-1 win over New Summerfield.

Jenny Emmel, Macy Wall and Nautika Trotty all added two hits for Overton, with Emmel driving in two runs. Haley McMillian, Kameron Martin, Wall and Trotty all added RBIs.

Blakeney struck out five with no walks, giving up a run on two hits for the pitching win.


HARLETON 11, WASKOM 0: HARLETON — Randi Carol Phillips and Maria DeMoney combined on a five-inning perfect game, and the Harleton Lady Wildcats earned an 11-0 District 16-3A win over Waskom.

Phillips got the start and earned the win, striking out 10 with no walks in four innings. DeMoney fanned one in her inning of work.

At the dish, Avery Underwood collected three hits — including a double — drove in a run and scored three times from the leadoff spot. Brooke Weaver added two hits and an RBI, and Hailey Pyland and Aubrey Nixon also drove in runs.
