New Baylor head coach Matt Rhule and members of the Bears staff will be in East Texas in the coming weeks.
Longview athletic director and head football coach John King announced Friday that Rhule as well as offensive line coach George Deleone and defensive assistant Fran Brown will speak at the East Texas Coaches Association Mini Clinic, set for Wednesday, Feb. 15 at the Longview High School Turf Room.
The clinic will begin at 6 p.m. and is free to ETCA member schools.
Rhule took over in Baylor in early December and wrapped up a furious push to National Signing Day this past Wednesday, reeling in 27 signees, including Henderson's Trestan Ebner. Baylor had one commit when Rhule took over in December.
Both Deleone and Brown worked under Rhule at Temple. Deleone served as offensive line coach for the Owls, a position he held for the Cleveland Browns in 2014-15. He also has coaching stints with the Miami Dolphins and San Diego Chargers as well as several collegiate gigs. Brown served as defensive backs coach as well as assistant head coach this past season at Temple.
Current East Texans on Baylor's roster include Longview's JaMycal Hasty, Gilmer's Blake Lynch and Daingerfield's Denzel Mims.
